Mission Statement

The Office of KISS + ZWIGARD is an internationally acclaimed architectural practice with 15 years of experience. The firms professionals include architects, interior designers and project managers with experience in all phases of design and construction. The two founding partners, Laszlo Kiss and Todd W. Zwigard, received their education at Cornell University and are presently on the Faculty of Parsons School of Design and Columbia University.

We at KISS + ZWIGARD take great pride in our uncompromised record of successful projects. The firm attributes this achievement to having developed a working method from years of practice which successfully integrates all of the components of a complex project to create unique and highly specific solutions that respond to the requirements of the client and are sensitive to the local environment.

The firm has consciously avoided specialization and formulaic design in favor of both programmatic and stylistic diversity. KISS + ZWIGARD's trade-mark "beyond function and style" is a natural result of their customized working method, treating each project as a unique problem with a unique solution.

Continually defying categorization while consistently achieving the highest level of quality in each new project has brought the firm much recognition. KISS + ZWIGARD never relies upon predetermined styles, choosing instead to develop a unique language which is derived from the conditions of the project itself.

The professional staff of KISS + ZWIGARD has a strong conection with the academic community. Our principals are on the faculty of major institutions in the new York City area.

Laszlo Kiss has served as an Architectural Design Critic and lecturer at numerous universities among them Columbia University, NY Institute of Technolegy, Ohio State University, Parsons School of Design, Texas A&M University.

Todd Zwigard is presently an Assistant Professor in the Environmental Design Department at Parsons School of Design and the Architecture Department of Columbia University.
